SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians dropped a back-and-forth affair to the Hillsboro Hops by the score of 8-6 on First Responders Appreciation night presented by BNSF Railway, The Big 99.9 Coyote Country, and KXLY AM 920/100.7 FM.

The first inning was almost a carbon copy of Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, Curtis Terry hit a two-out double and scored on a Diosbel Arias RBI single. On Monday night, Curtis Terry hit a two-out triple and scored on single from Arias. For Terry, it's his first triple in 404 at-bats as a Spokane Indian.

The Indians added on with another two-out rally in the third. Spokane loaded the bases and set the table for Hasuan Viera, who delivered with a two-run knock and increased Spokane's lead to 3-0.

The wheels fell off a bit in the top of the fifth. Hillsboro struck for six runs on six hits, two errors, and a walk. Tai Tiedemann finished the night throwing 4.1 innings, giving up four runs, three of them earned, and walking five.

Curtis Terry responded in the bottom half of the inning. After a leadoff walk from Julio Pablo Martinez, Terry launched a no-doubt, two-run shot to left field. Terry's NWL-leading 12th long ball of the season brought Spokane within a run.

The Indians would tie it in the seventh with another Redband Rally. Martinez led off the inning with a double and came in to score on Arias' RBI single. It was part of another three-hit night for Arias, who continues to torment NWL pitching. His .362 batting average is second in the league and his .444 OBP tops all qualified hitters.

With the game tied at six in the eighth inning, Spokane loaded the bases with two outs, but could not get the big hit to take the lead. Hillsboro knocked in two runs on three hits in the top of the ninth to take an 8-6 lead. Spokane got the tying run to the plate in the bottom half, but the rally was cut short.
