
Five Dust Devils Named to NWL All-Star Team

The Northwest League has released the 2018 All-Star roster for the fourth annual Northwest League vs. Pioneer Baseball League All-Star Game taking place on Tuesday, August 7th. The Tri-City Dust Devils have five players who have been selected to represent the NWL in this year's All-Star Game. The NWL team will include infielders Owen Miller and Olivier Basabe, right handers Henry Henry and Jordan Guerrero, and left hander Dan Dallas. Both Miller and Basabe have each been selected to start the All-Star Game.
Miller, this year's third round draft pick of the San Diego Padres has had an outstanding season as he has a .337 batting average and has recorded 58 hits. He has played the second most games in the Northwest league this season (43) and currently leads the league in hits.
Basabe, the eighth round selection of the Padres in the 2017 draft has been on fire the first half of the season. In the month of July, he has a .340 batting average, nine doubles, and three home runs. He currently leads the Dust Devils in RBI's (25) and is second only to fellow All-Star Miller in hits (40) and overall batting average (.315).
Henry, the 2017 All-Star game winning pitcher will be making his second All-Star game appearance for the Dust Devils. He has compiled a 4-1 record this season and currently holds a 2.95 ERA. Henry leads the team in innings pitched (42.2) and is second to only Dan Dallas in total strike outs (34). He was originally signed to a free agent minor league contract out of the Dominican Republic.
Guerrero, who rejoined the Dust Devils this season after a stint in Fort Wayne, has been dominant against NWL competitors all season. He has recorded a 2-1 record with a 0.00 ERA in 14 games and leads the team in both saves (4) and WHIP (0.79).
Dallas, a relief pitcher for the Dust Devils out of Canisuis High School in New York has been spectacular out of the bullpen this season. In 13 appearances, he has recorded a 1.93 ERA and has given up just 12 hits to opposing players. He currently leads the Dust Devils pitching staff with 38 strikeouts.
The 2018 Northwest League vs. Pioneer Baseball League All-Star Game will take place at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colorado on Tuesday, August 7th. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm with the Home Run Derby before the game at 4:00pm. Dust Devils fans can listen to the game by going to the Grand Junction Rockies TuneIn Radio station.
