ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Red Wings have announced plans for the Miracle on Ice Night presented by Airport Transmission, Castle, the Democrat & Chronicle, Jeremiah's Tavern and Labatt on Saturday, August 1 when the Wings host the Syracuse Chiefs at 7:05 p.m.

As previously announced, both teams will be wearing jerseys from the 1980 Olympics. Rochester will be in white while Syracuse will wear blue. The umpires will also be in referee jerseys. Both team's jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Red Wings Community Foundation and will be signed by the members of the 1980 US Men's Ice Hockey team that will be in attendance.

Mike Ramsey, John Harrington and recently added Ken Morrow. Each jersey for the auction will be signed by all three Olympians but not the player who wore the jersey on the field as has been the usual protocol for jersey auctions in the past.

Ramsey, Harrington and Morrow will also have two autograph sessions that night from 6-6:45 p.m. and 7:05-8 p.m. Between sessions, they will shoot the first pitch with a hockey stick rather than throw it.

Highlights of the 1980 hockey team's improbable victory over the Soviet Union will be shown during inning breaks and on-field promotions will have a hockey theme to them. Winners of each on-field promo will receive a replica Gold Medal as well.

Fans planning on attending should prepare to leave with more than they came with. The first 1,500 fans will receive a "Relive the Miracle" puck, the first 5,000 fans will receive a reprint of the Demoract & Chronicle front page from the day after the US beat the USSR and mini American Flags will be given away to the first 5,000 people through the gates. "Relive the Miracle" t-shirts will also be available for $15.

Empty stomachs will also be needed to score a Hat Trick - a one-night only food special - at the Black Angus concession stand. Consisting of a 1/2 pound cheeseburger, a 1/4 pound hot dog and a 1/3 pound Italian sausage with peppers and onions on a DiPaolo sub roll, the Hat Trick will be available for $10.

A postgame interview with all three Olympians will precede a fireworks show set to music from 1980. Players will also select special walk-up songs and music played between innings will all come from 1980. Fans are also encouraged to bring their own American Flags and dress in red, white and blue clothing.
