July 24, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Brian Bogusevic's walk-off double with two outs in the bottom of the 11th lifted the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (45-55) to a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Chiefs (39-62) on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park.
Chase d'Arnaud (2-5, 3B, 2 R) led off the inning with an infield single and scored from first on Bogusevic's double.
RHP Juan Gutierrez (1.1 IP, H, K) got the win for the Pigs and is now 4-1 on the season.
RHP Rafael Martin (0.2 IP, 2 H, R, ER, K) was tagged with the loss for the Chiefs and falls to 4-5 on the year.
With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the second, KC Serna gave the Pigs an early 1-0 lead with an RBI groundout. It was Serna's first career RBI at the Triple-A level.
In the home half of the third, Chase d'Arnaud led off with a triple into the right centerfield gap and later scored on Cord Phelps' sac fly to give the IronPigs a 2-0 lead.
Chiefs starter Taylor Jordan (n/d) gave up two runs on two hits while walking two and fanning three over five innings of work.
Former IronPig Darin Mastroianni's RBI single in the top of the fifth brought the Chiefs within a run at 2-1.
Syracuse tied it at two with a run in the sixth as Jayson Werth led off with a single, moved to third on a single and scored on Dan Butler's RBI single.
Lehigh Valley starter Severino Gonzalez (n/d) allowed the two runs on seven hits to go along with a walk and two strikeouts in 6.0 IP.
In his home debut with the IronPigs, RHP Dalier Hinojosa (2.0 IP, 3 K) tossed a pair of perfect frames.
Syracuse had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the tenth courtesy of a hit batsmen and a pair of walks issued by Adam Loewen (1.2 IP, 2 BB, 2 K), but Gutierrez was able to get Kevin Keyes to fly to center and end the inning.
The series continues on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. as RHP David Buchanan (2-0, 2.96) takes the hill for the Pigs against Chiefs RHP Paolo Espino (3-3, 2.71).
