Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (44-55) play Game 1 of a four-game series against the sixth-place Syracuse Chiefs (39-61) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 7-6 loss to Toledo last night, the Pigs split the four-game set with the Hens and have started 2-2 on this seven-game homestand. Still, the surging Pigs have won 15 of their last 22 affairs and sport the IL's second-best record (22-13) since June 14 after falling back to their low-water mark (22-42) of the season... The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- lost 3-1 at Buffalo last night to drop the four-game series, 3-1. Still, the Chiefs are 11-7 since setting a low-water mark (28-54) on July 3. They're also 20-18 since June 14, following a 3-25 span.
RHP Severino Gonzalez (1-5, 4.84) will start for LHV against RHP Taylor Jordan (3-4, 2.71).
Tonight is Friday Night Fireworks and Umbrella night, presented by TD Bank and The Morning Call... First Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
