Minor to Start for Rome

Rome, GA - First round draft pick Mike Minor will start for the Rome Braves tonight in game two of a three game series with Charleston. It will be Minor's first professional start.

A left-handed pitcher at Vanderbilt, Minor was the Atlanta Braves' first selection, seventh overall, in the June draft. Minor was 6-6 this season for the Commodores with a 3.90 ERA in 17 games. Last season he was 7-3 with two complete games but has enjoyed great success with Team USA that won the FISU World University Championships this past July. Minor was 3-0 with a 0.75 ERA with 37 strikeouts and 13 walks in 36 innings of work.
