Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves and the Charleston RiverDogs game has been suspended due to severe weather. The game will resume at 6pm Friday and will be followed by a seven inning contest.

The Braves jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as Shayne Moody led off with a single. Joel Campusano followed with a walk and a wild pitch moved both runners ahead. In the third, Rome added three runs on an RBI double by Adam Milligan and run scoring singles by Calvin Culver and Chaise Fuller making the score 5-0.

The RiverDogs cut the Braves lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Addison Maruszako and RBI single by Garrison Lassiter for the 5-2 score. Play was halted in the top of the fifth inning when the rains came.

Rome starter Mike Minor pitched two scoreless innings while striking out two in his professional debut.
