
Middleton signs ATO, Morris to Binghamton

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced that Jacob Middleton has been signed to an Amateur Try-out Agreement, Kevin Morris has been loaned to the Binghamton Senators (AHL) and Harry Quast has been released.
Middleton, 20, played in 68 games for the Ottawa 67's (OHL) this season, recording 31 points on seven goals and 24 assists. The left-shot defenseman was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 7th round (#210 overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The 6-foot-3, 214-pound native of Stratford, Ontario played in 226 games over parts of four seasons in the OHL between the Owen Sound Attack and 67's, and scored 86 points on 14 goals and 72 assists. Middleton wore the "C" for the 67's this season and was the 9th overall selection by the Sound Attack in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
Morris, 23, played in six games for the Monarchs after ending his collegiate career at Miami University (OH) where he played in 153 games over a four year career, scoring 48 points on 22 goals and 26 assists while logging 80 penalty minutes. With the Monarchs, Morris netted two goals, with his first professional goal coming in his first professional game against the Elmira Jackals on March, 19.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound forward is the son of former Monarchs Head Coach and current Head Coach of the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), Mark Morris, and receives his first call to the AHL.
Quast, 25, played in nine games for the Monarchs, scoring two assists, after finishing up at the University of New Hampshire, where he played in102 games over a four-year career, scoring14 points on two goals and 12 assists.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defenseman is a native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In 2015-16, he played 33 games and tallied one goal and three assists for four points, with his goal coming in a home contest against No. 13 Notre Dame on Jan. 23.
Middleton and the Monarchs are back on the Jungle ice tonight (7 p.m.) when they host the Adirondack Thunder in the final home game of the regular season on Fan Appreciation Night, sponsored by Energy North.
