INDIANAPOLIS - Five different Fuel players scored while Keegan Asmundson turned aside 39-of-41 shots en route to a 5-2 victory over the Fort Wayne Komets in the final regular season home game at Indiana Farmers Coliseum Friday night.

Brandon Wong and Cody Sharib got the ball rolling for the Fuel, scoring goals just 1:48 apart midway through the first period to give Indy a lead it would never relinquish. Despite the Komets pulling within 2-1 and 3-2 Indy was able to stretch the lead again each time thanks to goals by Daniel Ciampini, Anders Franzon and Ben Marshall.

Meanwhile Asmundson made several key stops in each period, including 21 during the middle frame. None was better than his thwarting of Jamie Schaafsma not once but twice in front of the goalmouth in the second period to keep the Fuel ahead at a critical juncture in the game.

Towards the end of the contest things became testy, with the teams amassing 46 minutes in penalties in the final frame alone and 68 for the game including three 10-minute misconducts.

The same two teams rematch tomorrow night to end the regular season in Fort Wayne at 7:30 pm. The Morellis Cleaners Indy Fuel pregame show starts 15 minutes prior to puck drop for the webcast on CBSSports1430.com and via the TuneIn Radio app.
