Mercury Announces Official Opening Day Roster

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury today announced its official opening day roster for the 2011 season. The final 11-player roster includes seven returners from the 2010 team and four newcomers. Highlighting the returners are All-Stars Diana Taurasi, Penny Taylor and Candice Dupree and two-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year DeWanna Bonner. A complete roster is below and attached to this email.

The Mercury waived guard Yuko Oga today to finalize the roster. Oga was a member of the 2008 Mercury.

The Mercury opens the 2011 season on Saturday when it travels to Seattle to take on the defending WNBA champion Storm. The game will be broadcast on ABC with tipoff slated for noon PT.
