Final Roster Set as Sky Prepares for Season Opener

CHICAGO, June 2, 2011 -The Chicago Sky announced today its official opening day roster for the 2011 season. The 11-player squad made final by Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman includes six returning players from the 2010 team and five newcomers who create a blend of youth and experience.

Returning to lead the team is All-Star center Sylvia Fowles, the electric Epiphanny Prince and smooth veteran Dominique Canty. New players to watch include former All-Star Michelle Snow, newly acquired Naperville native Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton, and the very talented rookie class of Courtney Vandersloot, Carolyn Swords and Angie Bjorklund.

The WNBA's 15th season tips off this weekend. The Sky begins its season on the road against its conference rival, the Indiana Fever on Saturday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. and can be seen on Comcast CN 100 or WNBA LiveAccess at CHICAGOSKY.NET. The home opener at Allstate Arena is scheduled for Friday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m.
