Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The National Guard Panther Racing show car of Indy 500 Rookie of the Year JR Hildebrand, runner-up in last Sunday's 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, will be on display Saturday night at the season and home opener of the Indiana Fever. The Fever entertains the Chicago Sky at 7:00 p.m. at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Hildebrand, who had the lead in the 95th Indy 500 until the last lap, had the logos of the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever on his car during the race. Teammate Buddy Rice, driver of the #44 car, had the logos of the Fever on his car.

The show car will be located in the Indiana University Health Entry Pavilion near the Box Office at Conseco Fieldhouse. A photo opportunity with Fever stars Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas in uniform in the car is tentatively scheduled for between 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.

"Of course, we are all Indy Car fans here with the Fever and the Pacers," said Fever Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf. "We were rooting for all the drivers, but Buddy and JR were special to us because they were carrying our banners. It will be great to share a little bit of the rich tradition of the 500 with our Fever fans on Saturday night."

A WNBA playoff participant in six straight seasons and seven times since 2002, the Indiana Fever begins its 12th season by hosting the Chicago Sky on Saturday, June 4 (7:00 p.m.). For single-game and season ticket information, visit FeverBasketball.com or call (317) 917-2500.
