Indiana Opens 12th WNBA Season on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS - With training camp winding to a close and the Indiana Fever finalizing its 11-player roster for the regular season, Coach Lin Dunn prepares her team now for Saturday's home and season opener against the Chicago Sky.

Tipoff at Conseco Fieldhouse is 7:00 p.m. with the first 3,000 fans in attendance receiving a specially-designed Fever maraca shaker. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Indiana with Chris Denari and Debbie Antonelli calling the action. Kevin Lee will call the Fever radio broadcast on 1070 The Fan. A live webcast may also be viewed on FeverBasketball.com.

Dunn begins her fourth season as the Fever head coach, following three years as an assistant. She guides one of the WNBA's most experienced teams, and one which has made six consecutive playoff appearances. Heading the lineup are four of the WNBA's most experienced veterans and All-Stars - Tamika Catchings, Katie Douglas, Tammy Sutton-Brown and free agent addition Tangela Smith. Catchings, Douglas and Sutton-Brown begin their 11th WNBA season on Saturday while Smith begins her 14th year with a league-record 415 games already under her belt.

Established in 2000, the Fever begins its 12th season, while the WNBA celebrates the beginning of its 15th year of operation.
