Atlanta Dream News Release

ATLANTA, June 2, 2011 - The Atlanta Dream announced its official roster today. All teams were required to cut their rosters to 11 players by 2 p.m. today.

The 2011 Dream roster is highlighted by four 2010 All-Star selections-- guards Iziane Castro Marques and Lindsey Harding and forwards Sancho Lyttle and Angel McCoughtry. McCoughtry leads on both ends of the floor, finishing third in the league in scoring (21.1 ppg) and second in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season. She is joined in the backcourt by Castro Marques and new addition Lindsey Harding. Forward Sancho Lyttle and center Erika de Souza lead the Dream frontcourt.

The Dream waived second round draft pick Felicia Chester, a 6-3 forward, to finalize the roster. The team had previously waived guards Kelsey Bolte and Shannon McCallum and forward Ashley Paris during training camp.

The Atlanta Dream is the defending Women's National Basketball Association's (WNBA) Eastern Conference Champion. The team tips off the 2011 season at home on June 5 against the New York Liberty at Philips Arena. The Dream enters its fourth season this summer as part of the WNBA, the world's longest-running women's professional sports league.
