
Memphis Storms Ahead with Eight-Run Sixth to Beat Omaha

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip with a 12-6 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Thursday night at AutoZone Park.
With the team trailing 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning, first baseman Luken Baker drew a walk to set up right fielder Moises Gomez. Gomez then deposited his fifth home run in his last four games to give Memphis the lead. Before the first out was recorded, Memphis scored eight runs in the frame.
In total, Baker (17), Gomez (14) and center fielder Juniel Querecuto (9) blasted home runs in the win. Baker finished 1-for-2 with the home run and three walks. Left fielder Matt Koperniak added three RBI to his total as part of a 2-for-5 day. Each Redbirds in the lineup recorded a hit, while catcher Ivan Herrera was the only Memphis player to not score a run.
Dakota Hudson (2-3) made his third appearance since coming off of the Injured List. The right-handed pitcher tossed 5.0 innings, allowed two runs on three hits, walked one and struck out seven batters to earn the win. Hudson completed his outing with 71 pitches (45 strikes).
The Redbirds (29-25) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, June 6 to begin a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m.
