
Knights Drop Thursday's Game to Sounds 10-7

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights rallied late in Thursday's game against the Nashville Sounds but lost the contest by a score of 10-7 in game three of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Knights brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning. Evan Skoug, the final batter of the game, popped out to end the rally.
Thursday's loss was Charlotte's second in the series after winning the opener on Tuesday night.
Second baseman Nate Mondou had a solid day at the plate for the Knights. Mondou launched his seventh home run of the season, a solo shot in the sixth inning of Thursday's game. He finished the game 2-for-3 with the home run and two RBI. Charlotte left fielder Víctor Reyes also had a strong offensive night. Reyes drove home two runs to add to his team-leading total. He now has a team-best 44 RBI on the year. His nine home runs on the year are tied with Carlos Pérez for the team lead.
LHP Nate Fisher (4-6, 5.11) started Thursday's game for the Knights and was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits over 5.1 innings pitched.
The Sounds scored 10 runs on 17 hits in Thursday's contest. Former Charlotte Knights infielder Eddy Alvarez had two hits, including his fourth home run of the season. In all, the Sounds hit three home runs on Thursday. Left fielder Blake Perkins had two home runs on the evening. RHP Caleb Boushley (3-2, 5.19) earned the win for the Sounds.
The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) from Truist Field on Friday night.
