Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals were bested 6-2 by the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Helping Hand - With an assist tonight, Tyler Soy (146) is within a helper of tying the Victoria record for most career assists, set by former Royal Jack Walker with 147 (2012-17). Former Royal and Chilliwack Bruin Brandon Magee holds the franchise record with 151 assists over his 318-game career (2010-15).

Halfway There - The Victoria Royals wrapped up the first half of their regular season with a record of 20-13-3-0. The club has posted a home mark of 11-4-1-0 and is tied with the Kelowna Rockets for the most points (43) in the BC Division through 36 games.

On Fire - Soy stretched his point streak to five games tonight and has registered eight points (2g-6a) during that span.

Welcome Home - Victoria forwards Noah Gregor and Tyus Gent took part in their first game at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre as members of the Royals. Victoria acquired Gregor earlier this week in trade with the Moose Jaw Warriors. Gent was recently called up by the club from the Delta Hockey Academy Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.
