
Mechanics net All-Star hat trick

FRASER, MI-The Motor City Mechanics are excited and proud to announce that Rod Branch, Matt Smith and Adam Edinger were named to the 2006 All-Star roster that will participate in the UHL All-Star Classic on January 25th in St. Charles, Missouri.
Rod Branch will be making his first UHL All-Star Appearance and first as a Mechanic. Branch currently ranks second in Games Played (29), second in minutes (1,700), second in wins (16), second in shutouts (2) and third in saves (794) among all UHL Goaltenders. From November 6th to December 17th Branch started in all 14 games and from November 26th to December 16th Branch held a six game winning streak where he had a minute 1.66 Goals Against Average (GAA).
Matt Smith will be making his first UHL All-Star Appearance and first as a Mechanic. Through 29 games played Smith ranks second in goals (9), eleventh in points (20) and ranks first in Power play goals (7) among all UHL Defensemen. Earlier in December Smith earned an AHL Call-Up due to his excellent play in the Mechanics jersey. Smith played one game with the Cleveland Barons and was an even rating.
Adam Edinger will be making his first UHL All-Star Appearance and first as a Mechanic. Edinger of course had an amazing month of December where he held an 8 game goal-scoring streak in which he totaled 13 goals over that span. He finished the month with 11 goals,
6 assists for 17 points and was a +5 rating. Four of his eleven goals were tallied on the power play and he had a shootout-tying goal against Flint on December 18th. Edingers highlight of the year thus far is the four-goal game he had against Muskegon on December 9th. Edinger has owned the Fury totaling seven goals in the four games played.
"On behalf of the entire Mechanics organization and the fans, we are proud to have these three guys represent our team at the All-Star game in Missouri," said Mechanics President John Tull. "With all of the hard work and dedication they have put in, they definitely deserve the recognition as being the best in the league."
The UHL has divided the league into two groups, Group "A," which will consist of Adirondack, Danbury, Elmira, Motor City, Port Huron, Richmond and Roanoke and will compete against Group "B."
Group "B" is comprised of, Flint, Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo, Missouri, Muskegon, Quad City and Rockford.
The starting lineups for the 2006 All-Star Classic will be selected by the fans. Information about voting can be found at the UHL's official website, www.theuhl.com. Fans can vote from January 11th to January 16th.
On February 10th the Mechanics will giving out Mechanics All-Star posters featuring Rod Branch, Matt Smith and Adam Edinger.
NEW TICKET PRICES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2006 SCHEDULE. The Mechanics will be offering Section 1, 8, and 9 (on the blue line) at $15; all other reserved seats at $10 and bleacher seats (general admission) will be sold at $5. All groups over 20 will receive the group rate at $8 per ticket.
