LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs saw two more players added to the 2009 American Association All-Star Game Saturday, as pitcher Chris Thompson and catcher Shawn McGill were named to the North Division squad. The Saltdogs will have four representatives at this year's All-Star Game in Grand Prairie, Texas on July 21.

McGill, the Saltdogs' Rookie of the Year in 2008, will be the reserve catcher on the North Division team. He's hitting .274 with two home runs and 20 RBI in 2009. Shawn has drawn 37 walks this season, compiling a .410 on-base percentage, and has 13 steals in 14 attempts, including one steal of home. McGill has played in all but one of Lincoln's game in 2009 to this point.

Thompson, the Saltdogs' closer, was acquired by Lincoln on June 19 in a trade with El Paso. He's appeared in seven games for Lincoln without allowing a run, earning six saves in six tries and striking out seven. Overall this season, Thompson leads the league in saves with 16, and is 0-1 with a 2.61 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .208 against him, and he's struck out 24 batters in 20.2 innings pitched.

McGill and Thompson join fellow Saltdogs Josh Burrus and Phil Hawke on the North Division squad. Burrus and Hawke were named as starting position players for the North team on Thursday.
