ST. PAUL, MN (July 11, 2009) - The rest of the country now knows what everyone in Minnesota already knew, that the St. Paul Saints are one of the most affordable, entertaining summer deals. Sports Illustrated.com has named the Saints as one of their "25 Best Summer Sports Bargains" in the country.

Writers Lia Calabro and Collin Orcutt scoured the country to find the best summer sports deals and the Saints, at #14, were the only single sports franchise selected. The other 24 selections were either events, leagues or specialty days held by a franchise. The Saints were recognized for their between-inning promotions, affordable ticket prices (starting at $4 for kids and $5 for adults) and some upcoming nightly promotions (twitter-my-face (July 23) and pocket-protector giveaway night (July 24) featuring The Nerd Pride Parade).

"Sports Illustrated has always been great to us and we appreciate this latest recognition," said Saints ExecutiveVice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer. "We'll continue to make sure the Saints remain entertaining and affordable for Minnesotans and those visiting us during the summer."

The Saints were named as one of the most affordable sports attractions in the summer while minor league baseball as a whole was also named (#7). Other baseball entities on the list were the Cape Cod League (#4), Futures at Fenway (#11), the 63rd Little League World Series (#13) and the Oakland Athletics BART Double-Play Wednesdays (#20).
