
McDade Has Two RBI But Fisher Cats Fall 6-4 To Thunder

(Trenton, NJ)---Mike McDade, the Eastern League's RBI leader, drove in two runs with a double and a sacrifice fly, but the Fisher Cats saw a five-game win streak snapped in a 6-4 loss at Trenton on Monday night.
The Fisher Cats (46-28) opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning. Adeiny Hechavarria singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Anthony Gose, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Travis d'Arnaud to make it 1-0. Mike McDade followed with his league-leading 25th double, scoring d'Arnaud for a 2-0 lead.
Trenton's Ray Kruml led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to cut the Fisher Cats lead to 2-1.
The Thunder (44-32) took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring five runs on five hits. Damon Sublett (2-for-2, RBI, 2 BB) singled in the run which tied the game, Deangelo Mack singled home two more runs for a 4-2 lead. Mack scored on a wild pitch and Austin Romine doubled home another run to put Trenton in front 6-2.
In the top of the eighth inning, Gose singled, stole second, was balked to third and scored on a sacrifice fly by McDade, giving him 52 RBI on the season.
New Hampshire threatened in the top of the ninth against reliever Chase Whitley, who was making his Double-A debut. John Tolisano walked, Callix Crabbe singled and Hechavarria grounded into a force play as Tolisano scored to make it 6-4. Gose singled to put the tying run on base but Travis d'Arnaud struck out to end the game.
Craig Heyer (7-3) worked seven innings for Trenton, allowing two runs on five hits. Three of his wins have come against New Hampshire. Henderson Alvarez (4-3) took the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits in 5.1 IP.
The Fisher Cats continue the series in Trenton on Tuesday night. RHP Jesse Litsch (0-0, 0.00) will make an MLB Rehab start for New Hampshire against Thunder LHP Manny Banuelos (3-1, 3.50). Game time is 7:05pm and radio coverage on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45pm.
