Richmond Slams the Senators 9-3

The Senators started their eight-game road trip on Monday night with a 9-3 loss to Richmond. Chris Dominguez hit the first grand slam in Richmond history in the seventh inning breaking open a 5-3 game. The Senators had their four-game winning streak snapped and they are now 43-32 while Richmond won for the fourth straight time and they are now 40-35.

Tanner Roark started and allowed four runs in the first, but settled in and went five innings allowing five runs in total. Roark struck out five and didn't walk a batter in his outing. He falls to 4-4 with the loss.

Henry Sosa started for Richmond and earned the win, going 6.1 innings. The Senators knocked him around, but couldn't never deliver the big blow against him. They tagged him for 11 hits and three runs.

Bill Rhinehart had three hits and Chris Rahl, Tyler Moore and Tim Pahuta all had two hits. Tyler Moore drove in two runs with a single off the left field wall in the seventh inning. All told Harrisburg had 12 hits, but stranded 12 runners and went just two for nine with runners in scoring position.

Game two of the three game series is Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. with Erik Davis on the hill for the Sens against RH Justin Fitzgerald for Richmond. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Sens website and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:50 p.m.
