Notes
Closing in on playoff berth - The Mavericks are closing in on their second straight playoff berth. Currently, the Mavericks magic number is four. They need a combination of four points between Mavericks' wins or Evansville losses to earn their second playoff berth in their second season.
Griffith streak - One of the newest members of the Mavericks, Todd Griffith, is currently on a seven-game scoring streak and four-game goal streak. Griffith has played 10 games with Missouri since joining the team on February 4. After going scoreless in his first three games, the Welland, Ontario native has points in each of his last seven games and a goal in each of the last four games. In total, Griffith has seven goals and four assists in his seven-game streak. It is the second longest point streak of the season for the Mavericks.
Leading goalie - Mavericks' goaltender Robby Nolan continues to lead the Central Hockey League with a 2.17 goals-against average (GAA). Nolan recorded his league-leading fifth shutout of the season by stopping all 41 shots in the Mavericks 4-0 win over the Rapid City Rush on Saturday night. The second-year pro is in the top five of every major goaltending category. Other than leading in GAA and shutouts, Nolan is fourth in save percentage (.923) and tied for fifth in wins (20).
Home/Road Records - The Mavericks have identical home and road records. Missouri is 14-9-3 at Independence Events Center and 14-9-3 away from home. The Mavericks are one of seven teams in the league to be five games or more above the .500 mark on the road.
Good month - The Mavericks had their best month of the regular season and closed out the month of February with a 7-2-2 record. Missouri earned 16 of a possible 22 points for a .727 win percentage, and the two regulation losses were the fewest in any month this season.
Special teams - Missouri's special teams were also at their best during the month of February. The Mavericks converted on 25% of their power play chances and the team killed all but three power plays in the entire month and finished with a 92.7% penalty kill.
