Mavericks Aqcuire All-Star Defenseman from Rapid City

Independence, MO (January 15, 2014) - The Missouri Mavericks announced on Wednesday that the team has acquired all-star defenseman Landon Oslanski from the Rapid City Rush in exchange for defenseman Dallas Ehrhardt.

Oslanski, 22, was announced last week as a member of the CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic roster for the mid-season showcase scheduled for January 21 in Orlando, FL. The Camrose, Alberta native has five goals and 13 assists this season in 35 games. Oslanski has been the catalyst for the Rapid City power play this season tying for the team lead with four power play goals.

"We are very excited about the presence Landon will have as the quarterback on the power play," said Richard Matvichuk, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He has outstanding offensive ability and will be an overall boost to our group's production."

Last season was the 5-11, 186-pound defenseman's rookie campaign where he finished with eight goals and 19 assists in 67 games with the Stockton Thunder.

Oslanski has also played 13 ECHL playoff games with Stockton (played six games after completing final junior season in 2012-13) totaling two assists.

Ehrhardt had 1 goal and 3 assists in 23 games with the Mavericks this season.

The Missouri Mavericks will be welcoming the legendary Hanson Brothers, from the 1977 movie "Slap Shot" to Independence Events Center on Saturday, January 17th during their home game against the visiting Rapid City Rush. Face-off is set for 7:05pm (CST).

The Missouri Mavericks will be wearing specialty "Chiefs" jerseys during the matchup which will be auctioned off in a live auction directly following the game in sections 101 & 102 with proceeds benefitting The Rainbow Center.

Fans are invited to attend a special VIP meet and greet event with the Hanson Brothers at Strikerz Entertainment Center from 4:00-5:30pm ahead of the Mavericks 7:05pm game.
