Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, in partnership with American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Red Cross Jersey Night returning to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Saturday, Jan. 31. at 6:00 p.m.

This year's jersey was designed by a local company, Erudite Entertainment who used the concept of a knight in shining armor, with a metallic look which inspired the chainmail undercoat, leggings and the plate mail shoulders. They wanted to show the strength and tenacity of all four groups involved, the American Red Cross, Reign hockey players, the Ontario Reign organization and their fans, by covering the armor with a torn tabard like overlay. No matter what challenges they face, they will always be willing to shed blood, sweat and tears to defend, serve and protect all they hold dear. This is represented in all the stains that cover the overlay.

"These four groups are truly inspirational in their passion, their service and their big hearts," said Jeremy Bishop, CEO and President of Erudite Entertainment. "It was an honor to design these jerseys with each of them in mind."

These jerseys will be auctioned off in a live auction immediately following the game against the Idaho Steelheads to benefit the local American Red Cross for programs and services.

The American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapters serves nearly 2 million people in San Bernardino County. More than 300 active volunteers provide relief to victims of single family fires, community emergencies and help people to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters. The 6th Annual Red Cross Jersey Night recognizes its partners, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Circle K and Erudite Entertainment.

The first 5,000 fans that enter the arena that night will receive a Dark Knight Coin Bank, compliments of the California National Guard. So just be sure and get to the rink early as they will go fast, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.

Unlike the active duty components of the armed forces, the California Army National Guard, a force of more than 15,900 Soldiers, serves dual state and federal missions. This means the Guard answers to the state of California in garrison and the federal government when called to activation. While the Guard was once viewed as a strategic reserve for wartime forces, it now serves as an operational reserve that consistently deploys with the active duty Army when help is needed anywhere in the world. While Guard units are combat-trained and can be deployed overseas, they are just as likely to serve in their home communities in times of need. Our Guard Soldiers typically live in the communities in which they serve and are near friends and family while holding civilian jobs. They attend drill one weekend each month and attend a two-week annual training each year to ensure maximum preparedness.
