Mavericks Announce Surprise "Pro Hockey" Game for Jr. Mavs and Visiting Youth Team from Beijing

Independence, MO (February 7, 2015) - Youth hockey will get the pro sports treatment on Thursday, February 12th, as the Jr. Mavs Squirt team takes on the visiting Beijing Little Wolves youth hockey team from Beijing, China in the main bowl of Independence Events Center beginning at 6:00pm (CST).

This game will feature exciting elements of a Missouri Mavericks professional game as the youth skaters, age 8-10 years old, take to the ice as they've never done before!

"We are more committed than ever to growing youth hockey in Kansas City," said Mavericks GM Brent Thiessen, "and producing an international showcase between the Jr. Mavs and the Beijing Little Wolves will be one of the most fun and entertaining things we've ever done."

Hockey fans throughout Kansas City are encouraged to attend this special event and cheer on the young hockey players, for a unique and memorable game they will never forget.

The game is free to the public, but canned food donations or monetary donations benefitting Community Services League (CSL) are encouraged. Fans can enter through the South doors of Independence Events Center beginning at 5:30pm (CST). Limited concessions will be available on the South concourse behind section 104.

The Beijing Little Wolves will also be featured during the Missouri Mavericks home game on Tuesday, February 10th during the first period intermission.

This unique youth hockey exhibition game is presented by YPSM, the go-to local search destination for more than 80 million people across the U.S., and the Jr. Mavs Hockey Program.
