GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors (25-18-3), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, filled the Bon Secours Wellness Arena with a season-high 7,285 fans on Saturday, but suffered a 7-1 setback to the South Carolina Stingrays.

With the loss, Greenville's winless skid hit six games (0-4-2) for the first time since the team moved to the Upstate in 2010. The Road Warriors also fell to 14-8-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink this season.

South Carolina forwards Andrew Ammon and Tim Spencer each scored twice, while goaltender Adam Morrison (8-6-2) made 30 saves and improved to 5-1-1 against Greenville this season.

The Stingrays opened the scoring at 6:08 of the first period when Ammon converted a rebound chance following a 2-on-1 break. From the right side, Derek Deblois gained the zone and ripped a shot from the circle that was turned aside by goaltender Jason Missiaen, but the second opportunity slid directly to Ammon for the put-back.

Former Road Warrior forward Andrew Rowe extended South Carolina's lead with a power play goal just 1:20 into the second period. With Emerson Clark in the box for roughing, Rowe forced the puck to the Greenville net straight off the draw, where it slipped under Missiaen for his seventh goal this season.

Patrick Gaul continued the Stingrays' success in the final seconds of the middle frame when he retrieved a loose puck at his own blue line and skated in transition on a breakaway. With speed from the hash marks, Gaul went forehand-to-backhand and tucked a low shot between the post and Missiaen's left toe-pad for his fifth goal this season.

South Carolina built a 5-0 lead with consecutive goals in the third period before the Road Warriors answered. At the 4:50 mark, Spencer finished a rebound from the top of the crease after Ammon fired a blast from the high-slot. Missiaen knocked down the initial shot from Ammon, but could not cover up before Spencer pushed it home for his first goal of the season. Ammon, who earned an assist on the play, added his third point and second goal of the contest with a power-play tally at 13:15. Caleb Herbert began the attack with a drive from the perimeter that deflected off the glass and popped right back to the doorstep, where Ammon finished.

McCarthy notched Greenville's only goal at 16:01 of the third period on the power play. From between the circles, McCarthy grabbed a pass from Vinny Saponari and sent a wrister past Morrison's blocker for his 10th goal of the season.

South Carolina capped the scoring with two more goals in the final three minutes of play. At the 17:50 mark, Spencer notched his second goal of the game after Rowe gained the zone and left the puck on the left wing. Spencer, who trailed the play, collected it and beat Missiaen on a wrist shot. Drew MacKenzie made it 7-1 with a slap shot from the left circle assisted by DeBlois and Frankie Simonelli.

The game included one tilt, which occurred at the 1:15 mark of the middle frame between Bretton Cameron and Scott Ford.

Greenville finished the game 1-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill. Missiaen (9-8-2) made 26 saves in the loss.

South Carolina outshot Greenville 33-31.
