Matile Placed on Injured Reserve; Thuss Signed as Emergency Backup

BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today goaltender Sean Matile (Mah-TEEL) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve and signed goaltender Chuck Thuss as emergency backup goaltender.

Matile, 27, has appeared in five games with Mississippi this season. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Vernon, British Columbia has posted a 2-2-0 record, 1.43 goals against average, one shutout and .950 save percentage.

Thuss, 30, played four seasons with the Sea Wolves and is currently the Director of Player Development for the organization. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound native of Arkona, Ontario is the all-time franchise leader in goaltender wins with 58 and holds the Sea Wolves career shutout record with eight.

Mississippi visit Louisiana tonight for a home-and-home set with the IceGators at 7:05 p.m. at the Cajundome in Lafayette.

The Sea Wolves return home for a rematch tomorrow at 7:35 p.m. against Louisiana at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
