Marlies Tally Three Powerplay Goals in Victory over Abbotsford

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, by a score of 3-2 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

Jerry D'Amigo opened the scoring on a powerplay at 3:36 of the first period. The Heat would respond before the end of the frame with Zachery Davies tallying his first goal of the season. The two teams would once again trade powerplay goals in the second period with Corey Locke tallying for Abbotsford and Carter Ashton scoring for Toronto. The Marlies would capitalize on a five-minute powerplay opportunity late in the game when Josh Leivo notched his 18th goal of the season with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.
