Syracuse, NY - Kristers Gudlevskis and the Syracuse Crunch shut out the Adirondack Phantoms 3-0 today at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Evan Rankin, Brett Connolly and Philippe Paradis each scored and Gudlevskis turned aside 31 shots, for his fifth shutout of the season, to snap a four game losing streak. Syracuse improves their overall record to 25-29-4-6. The Crunch hold a 3-1-0-0 lead in the season series with Adirondack. Syracuse scored twice on the power-play while the Phantoms failed to convert on eight power-play opportunities.

The Crunch took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal from Rankin. Rankin tipped a Dmitry Korobov point shot past Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter at the 6:25 mark of the first frame. Jonathan Marchessault picked up the secondary assist.

After a scoreless second period Connolly extended the Crunch lead with a power-play marker 2:34 into the final frame. Connolly backhanded the puck past Heeter for his 17th goal of the season. Assists went to Nikita Nesterov and Paradis. Less than two minutes later Mike Angelidis forced a Phantoms turnover and set up Paradis who shot the puck over the arm of Heeter to make it 3-0 Syracuse. Heeter finished the game with 25 saves on 28 shots.

Crunchables: With his fifth shutout of the season Kristers Gudlevskis is now tied for the league lead in that category...Brett Connolly has three points in his last three games...With his third period goal Connolly is now tied with Vladislav Namestnikov for the team lead in goals scored...The Crunch were assessed a season-high 77 penalty minutes....Both teams combined for 143 penalty minutes...The Crunch are 12-2-2-3 when scoring the game's first goal.
