Albany Devils News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins scored the tying goal with 1:04 remaining in regulation and netted the game-winning goal 1:22 into overtime for a 3-2 victory against the Albany Devils Sunday at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

The Devils, who had erased a 1-0 deficit in the third period, saw their four-game winning streak halted, but still gained one point towards the Eastern Conference standings. They are now sixth with a 34-20-4-7 record. The Penguins grab sole possession of fifth place with a 36-21-3-5 record.

Adam Larsson and Darcy Zajac both scored. Larsson tied the game 42 seconds into the third and Zajac's slap shot down the right wing gave Albany a 2-1 advantage at 7:16.

For Larsson, the goal was his third of the season and second in as many games. Zajac, who recently returned from a 56 game hiatus, netted his first tally of the year.

Brendan Mikkelson scored the tying goal and Chuck Kobasew, who scored Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's first goal, netted the winner on a transition play with Scott Harrington.

Keith Kinkaid returned to the Devils net and made 19 stops. At the other end, Jeff Deslauriers also made 19 saves in the winning effort.

Next up, the Devils travel to face the Hershey Bears Friday at 7 pm at Giant Center. The game can be seen on ahllive.com or heard on 104.5 "The Team."
