Kane County Cougars News Release

CLINTON, Iowa - The Kane County Cougars in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster move, effective prior to their Sunday afternoon contest with the Clinton LumberKings at Ashford University Field.

Right-handed pitcher Dillon Maples has been added to the Cougars' roster and will start on Sunday against the LumberKings. A 14th-round draft choice in 2011, Maples was selected out of Pinecrest High School in North Carolina. Because of injury, he's only appeared in six pro contests and has a 4.35 ERA in 10.1 innings. He's still ranked as one of top prospects in the Chicago Cubs organization.

To make room for Maples on the roster, left-handed pitcher Matt Iannazzo has been reassigned to Extended Spring Training in Mesa, Arizona. Iannazzo was 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA as he appeared in four ballgames for the Cougars. The Cougars' active roster remains at 25 players. An updated version of the roster is attached.
