Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Minnesota Twins have promoted the Beloit Snappers' staff ace and Midwest League Western Division All-Star starting pitcher, Jeff Manship, to the Fort Myers Miracle. Fort Myers is the Class High A Affiliate of the Twins.
Manship is 7-1 with a 1.51 ERA in 13 games started this season for Beloit. Opponents are batting a measly .185 against him. Jeff also has 77 strikeouts in 77 and two thirds inning pitched this year.
This San Antonio native was the Twins' 14th round pick in the 2006 June draft. Manship attended the University of Notre Dame and led the team in strikeouts (111) and wins (9). He was named the 2006 Big East Conference Pitcher of the Year as well as being the only unanimous First Team All-Big East Conference selection. Jeff was also a Third Team Louisville Slugger All-American in '06.
Manship's departure leaves the Snappers' roster at 23, two below the Midwest League maximum.
