Burlington, IA (June 25, 2007) - After a brief stint in Double-A, catcher Jeff Howell returns to the Burlington Bees active roster today. Howell left last Tuesday night to join the Wichita Wranglers in the Texas League to fill in for an injured Adam Donachie. Howell appeared in two games for the Wranglers and was 3-5 with a double. Howell joined the Bees originally from extended spring training on May 21st after finishing his rehab from off-season shoulder and wrist surgery. In 19 games with the Bees, he is batting .229 with two home runs, 12 RBI, three doubles, and eight runs scored.
Howell will meet the team in suburban Chicago later today as the Bees travel to start a four-game series against the Kane County Cougars at Elfstrom Stadium tonight. LH Everett Teaford (3-6, 4.91) will be on the mound for the Bees. The game starts at 6:30 and will be broadcast live on KBUR AM 1490 and KBKB AM 1360 with the pre-game show starting at 6:10.
