Mallards Sweep Chinooks

Mequon, WI - The Majdison Mallards sweep the Lakeshore Chinooks before heading into the All-Star Break. The lefty, Jacob Baldino, from Kent State University started on the mound for the Mallards pitching four inning and giving up six hits, Baldino also gave up two runs which had the Chinooks and the Mallards tied at two in the bottom of the fourth.

Starting off hot in the top of the first, Alex Iadisernia (Elon) got on base with a double and was brought in to score the first run by a single from Bryant Shellenbarger (University of Akron). After being quiet in the second and third the Mallards came in the top of the fourth with another run. Kyle Bork (University Minnesota) had a double in the begging of the inning and was brought in to score.

The Chinooks tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth, but the Mallards were in it to win it. Alex Iadisernia (Elon University) had another big double, and later in the inning was brought in with a single from Shellenbarger.

In the top of the ninth Bryant Shellenbarger again brings in Iadisernia after hitting another double and catcher Drake Baldwin (Missouri State) scored the winning run coming in on a sac fly from JT Benson (Louisville) to bring the Mallards to a six to three victory over Lakeshore.

The Mallards are sending two All Stars, Alex Iadisernia and Drake Baldwin to Mankato for the Home Run Challenge and All-Star game on Monday and Tuesday of this week, then will return home for a four-game homestand beginning on July 22nd.
