July 12, 2006 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced that INF Travis Schlichting and OF Warner Madrigal have been activated from the DL and reassigned to the Arizona League Angels in Tempe, AZ where they will both become pitchers.
Schlichting, who has been on the DL since May 27, played in 31 games for the Kernels, batting .242 with 3 HR and 9 RBI.
Madrigal, who has been on the DL since June 12, was in his third season with the Kernels and played in 30 games with a .235 BA, 4 HR and 13 RBI. Warner's first season in 2004 was cut short by a broken bone in his hand in the first game of the season that kept him out of action until August. In 2005, he played a full season batting .247 with 15 HR and 53 RBI.
The move does not affect any active players and leaves the Kernels roster at the MWL maximum of 25 players.
