Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING - Two big innings propelled the Lansing Lugnuts to a 13-4 comeback win over the Fort Wayne Wizards Wednesday night before 2,219 at Oldsmobile Park. The win marks the end of a five game losing streak at home for the Lugnuts, their longest of the season.

Lansing trailed 4-1 in the sixth inning before bursting out for six runs. The first three batters of the inning reached to bring up Brian Pettway, who singled home two runs to make it 4-3. After Jacob Butler singled to load the bases again for Lansing, David Hicks ripped a triple off of the right field wall to clear the bases and give the Lugnuts a 6-4 lead. Hicks would later come home to score on a wild pitch to make it 7-4.

The Lugnuts added six more runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a Pettway two run double and a Butler two run single. Butler's single made it the score 13-4. Pettway finished the game 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Jason Armstrong blasted his second career homer in the fourth inning, a solo shot to left field.

Adrian Martin (4-1) picked up the win in relief, throwing 3 2/3 solid innings for Lansing and allowing just one unearned run.
