Lynx This Week

Friday, November 18 @ Columbia

Sunday, November 20 @ Pensacola

A return engagement with the Columbia Inferno will see the Lynx looking to re-take the lead in the season series after a 4-2 loss at home Friday night. Columbia jumped out to a four-goal advantage before the Lynx came back with two goals late in the contest. The Inferno's David Bonk leads both teams with a goal and two assists in the series.

Trevor Cunning will head back to the spot of his first pro win on Sunday, as the Lynx play the Ice Pilots for the second time this year, both in Pensacola. Cunning was released by the Ice Pilots when goaltender Todd Ford was assigned from Toronto of the AHL, and picked up by Augusta in time to start against his old team back on October 29th. Making 40 saves to earn the victory, Cunning outdueled the very goaltender he was let go in favor off in Ford.

Week In Review

11/11 vs. Columbia 4-2 loss

Columbia jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the early part of the third period, and the Lynx could not rally despite two late markers. Nicolas Corbeil and Joe Pereira recorded goals for the Lynx in the loss, while Jason Wolfe returned from the IR and made 18 saves in taking the loss.

11/12 vs. South Carolina 3-2 shootout win

Cam McCaffrey and Deryk Engelland pushed the Stingrays out to a 2-0 lead, but back came the Lynx on goals by Pereira and Brian Passmore, who's power play goal with just 1:19 remaining pushed the game to overtime. A scoreless extra session led to the Lynx taking the shootout in convincing fashion 3-0 for the victory. Trevor Cunning stopped 22 shots and all three shooters faced in the shootout, while Maxime Daigneault finished with 36 saves through overtime.
