Johnstown Chiefs News Release
WEEKLY SUMMARY:
The Johnstown Chiefs (0-6-4) went 0-2-1 last week, dropping a seven round shootout at home to Trenton on Friday, 3-2, and a pair of games to the Wheeling Nailers. A Chiefs comeback fell short against Wheeling at home on Saturday, 4-2, and the Chiefs fell on Sunday, in Wheeling, 4-1. The Chiefs, with four points, are in 6th place in the North division.

Cey 32 Saves For the third time this season, the Chiefs and Titans went to overtime, tied at 2. And, for the third time this season, the Titans won the shootout, making the final score, 3-2. The shootout went seven rounds before Ned Havern¡¦s shootout goal went unanswered. Adam Henrich and Justin Kelly, who were both assigned earlier in the week, scored Johnstown¡¦s goals in the first period. Morgan Cey, a rookie from Notre Dame, made his first professional start.

Brandon Elliot tallied a goal, a fight, and 11 PIM¡¦s in Johnstown¡¦s 4-2 loss to Wheeling. Brady Greco also received a fighting major. The major penalties were first in six games at the War Memorial. Nailer goals just 21 seconds apart early in the 2nd period proved insurmountable for the Chiefs, despite another furious comeback. Paul Caponigri added his first goal of the season. Ben Wallace added an assist, his first of the season.

Brandon Elliot scored his second goal in two games, but it was the only Chiefs tally, as they fell in Wheeling, 4-1. The game was marred by controversy as the Chiefs were assessed five misconduct penalties. Paul Caponigri received a game misconduct in the 3rd period for arguing a call by referee Dean Sanborn, who also officiated Saturday¡¦s contest. Mike Egener, who earlier received a 10-minute misconduct penalty for an altercation with Nailer defenseman, Drew Fata, received a game misconduct following the game for attempting to renew the battle. Brady Greco also received a 10-minute misconduct penalty, from the bench, late in the third period. The Chiefs totaled 64 PIM's.
UPCOMING OPPONENTS:
Friday, November 18 vs. South Carolina Stingrays 7:30 p.m. Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com Friday night, the Chiefs have their one and only meeting of the season with the Stingrays. South Carolina is 2-4-5, and in 5th place in the South division. The Stingrays are 1-2-2 away from their home in North Charleston.

Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs will meet the Storm for the third time this season, going 0-1-1 in the previous two. The Chiefs dropped a 5-4 overtime game in Johnstown, and lost in Toledo, 6-2. Storm forward, Scooter Smith is third in the ECHL in scoring with 17, while Ken McGowan and Todd Jackson are tied for fifth with 16. Toledo trails Wheeling by a point for the North Division lead.

Brandon Elliot tallied two goals in two games against Wheeling last weekend.
J.B. Bittner leads the team in scoring, with 7 points (2G 5A)
Morgan Cey stopped 56 total shots in his first two professional starts.
