Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton Bombers goaltender Sean Broderick recorded 27 saves and first star honors in a 3-1 win over the defending Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans in front of 2,410 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday afternoon. Dayton goaltender Sean Broderick, who played just one game since his collegiate career ended at the Air Force Academy in 2001, recorded his first professional win. Broderick has been working as a contractor at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base since moving to the Dayton-area in June. An injury to goaltender Chad Collins forced Broderick into the starting role on Sunday. Final shots were even, 28-28.

After returning from Reading in the wee hours of the morning, the Bombers spotted the Titans a 1-0 lead when Ned Havern beat Broderick just 19 seconds into the game.

The Bombers scored a pair of goals two minutes and twenty seconds apart late in the second period and never looked back. Tyler Scott tied the game at 1-1 with his first goal of the season at 17:19. And Scott Cameron gave Dayton a 2-1 lead with a powerplay goal at 19:39 of the second period.

Tim Konsorada scored an insurance goal with just 9 seconds remaining in the third period, and the Bombers snapped a 3-game losing streak with the 3-1 victory.

Broderick and his wife Pam are expecting twins in June.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season. The Bombers return home Saturday, November 19th to host the Stockton Thunder at 7:05 pm. For tickets and information, call the Bombers' office at 937-775-4747.
