Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx announced today that they have signed right wing Jason Norrie to the team, while waiving defenseman Lawnie Snyder and putting tough forward Nick Greenough on the injured reserve.

Norrie, 27, has played in the ECHL for the most part during his career, spending last season between Cincinnati and Peoria. The 6-3 winger notched 14 goals and 35 points last year while accumulating 129 PIMs as well. Through his career Norrie has been known for his toughness and grit, racking up 1146 minutes in the box over 393 pro games.

"We need a guy who can play the right side, and Jason has shown he can put the puck in the net as well as take care of his team," said Lynx Head Coach Stan Drulia. "We're looking for him to step in and make a contribution immediately."

To make room for Norrie, the Lynx waived rookie defenseman Lawnie Snyder and placed forward Nick Greenough on seven-day IR.

Augusta goes back on the ice tonight against the Pee Dee Pride at 7:35 pm.
