Trenton Devils News Release

READING, (October 23, 2004) - The Trenton Titans completed the weekend sweep of the Reading Royals with 3-1 victory in front of a sellout crowd of 7,248 at the Sovereign Center.

Evan Nielsen drew first blood for the Titans with a low slapshot that got past Reading goaltender Cody Rudkowsky at 5:58 of the first period.

The Titans would extend the lead to 2-0 on Brent Robinson's first goal as a Titan coming just 1:22 later.

With Evan Nielsen in the box for high-sticking, Judd Medak took a failed clearing attempt and blasted a shot past Andrew Allen to cut the Titans' lead to one goal.

Robinson would put Trenton up by two once again early in the third period as he beat Rudkowsky to a loose puck in the slot and slid it into the open net.

The Royals would not go down easily outshooting the Titans 19-4 in final frame and finally breaking through on a Jon Francisco goal at 14:16.

Andrew Allen, however, shut the door from there making key saves down the stretch to preserve the 3-2 win for the Titans. Allen finished with 41 saves on shots.

The Titans next take the ice on Saturday, October 22 at 7:00pm versus the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.

Don't miss "Along the Boards" with host Mike O'Brien, Head Coach Mike Haviland and goaltender Andrew Allen this Monday, October 25, from 7-8pm at First and Ten at 1961 Hamilton Avenue in Hamilton, NJ.
