Bullies Take the Bark Out of Grrrowl, 3-2

Greenville, SC – Luke Curtin and Brett Nowak each recorded a goal and an assist and goaltender Adam Munro stopped 29 shots to lead the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies to a 3-2 win over the Greenville Grrrowl before 3836 at the Bi-Lo Center in ECHL action on Saturday.

Nowak opened the scoring for Atlantic City at 15:17 of the first period on the power play when he collected Curtin's rebound in the slot and slapped the puck past Greenville goaltender Mike Brodeur for a 1-0 lead. Just 2:09 later, Curtin notched his first goal of the year when he took a cross-ice feed from Ian Walterson at the left-wing circle and fired a slap shot over the left shoulder of Brodeur at 17:26 to give the Bullies a 2-0 advantage at the end of one period.

Jason Notermann gave the Bullies a 3-0 lead with a power play goal at 7:50 of the second period, taking a feed from Nowak across the crease and tucking the puck underneath Brodeur. The Grrrowl would crack the scoreboard before the end of the period. Alex Kojevnikov fired a slap shot from the right wing circle over the shoulder of Bullies goaltender Adam Munro at 18:35 on the power play to bring Greenville back to within two goals at 3-1.

In the third, the Grrrowl took advantage of another power play as Richard Pitirri tapped a loose puck by Munro at 2:57 of the period to bring Greenville within a goal at 3-2 but the Grrrowl wouldn't score again. Atlantic City out-shot Greenville 36-31. The Bullies went 2-4 on the power play.
