LANSING, Mich. - Blake Ochoa homered and went 3-for-4, helping the Clinton LumberKings (14-17; 54-47) end the four-game winning streak of the Lansing Lugnuts (13-17; 39-60) with a 7-5 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Oldsmobile Park.

The LumberKings scored four times in the top of the fifth inning against Lugnuts starter Chase Lirette (3-2) to seize control of the game, only to see Lansing make things interesting in the bottom of the ninth.

Back-to-back two-out, two-run singles by Brian Van Kirk and Johermyn Chavez cut a 7-1 lead to 7-5, bringing up Mike McDade as the potential game-tying run. Clinton closer Cheyne Hann responded, however, striking out McDade looking on a 3-2 pitch to end the ballgame and earn his sixth save.

Kings right-hander Ryan Moorer (3-1) earned the win in relief of spot-starter Derrick Saito, hurling 1 1/3 scoreless innings in pitching out of a pair of jams.

Brett Lorin had been scheduled to start the game for the visitors but was scratched shortly before gametime and dealt by the Seattle Mariners to the Pittsburgh Pirates as part of a package deal for shortstop Jack Wilson and pitcher Ian Snell. The Pirates received four additional prospects, including former Lugnuts infielder Ronny Cedeno.

In defeat, Lansing thid baseman Balbino Fuenmayor went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles while Van Kirk went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

The Lugnuts and LumberKings play the rubber match of their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday at Oldsmobile Park. It will be a special Ladies Night edition of the popular Labatt Blue Light Thirsty Thursday featuring speed-dating, free massages, and drink specials.

Lugnuts standout right-hander Chad Beck (4-4, 5.23) receives the start, opposed by Clinton right-hander Alfredo Venegas (4-4, 4.41).
