
Luchanko Makes his NHL Debut with the Philadelphia Flyers

Guelph Storm centreman Jett Luchanko made Philadelphia Flyers history as the youngest player to make his NHL debut, having just turned 18 years old on August 21st.
In his debut, Luchanko played 14:36 minutes and registered one shot in the Flyers shootout win over the Canucks.
Luchanko impressed during the 2024 NHL Pre Season which drew praise from both General Manager Danny Briere and Head Coach John Tortorella. "He's blown us away from day one. The speed is one thing that really jumped out with top-end NHL speed already at such a young age, that's impressive," said Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Danny Briere.
The London, Ont., native was selected 13th overall by the Flyers in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft after impressing during the regular season, amassing 74 points (20 goals, 54 assists) through 68 games, he was also named the William Hanley Trophy recipient as the league's most sportsmanlike player. His off-season included a gold medal win at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship, where he produced 7 points in 7 games. He shined at the 2024 NHL Scouting Combine which involves interviews, medical screenings, and fitness testing where Luchanko finished in the top 25 for 13 of the 17 fitness testing events, including a top 5 finish for 6 of the events.
At the team's annual awards banquet last season, Luchanko took home some hardware, including the Top Scorer Award, the Owen's Corning Tony Camilleri Playmaker Award, and the Paul Fendley Scholastic Player of the Year Award.
