Traverse City, MI - In the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, the Traverse City Pit Spitters beat the Battle Creek Bombers 8-0 to sweep the doubleheader and win their fifth game in a row.

The Pit Spitters have outscored their opponents 67-16 during the win streak, including two shutouts and two 20+ run games.

For the fifth game in a row, the Pit Spitters scored first, this time on a Camden Traficante two-RBI single in the second. He added two more RBI's on a double in the third.

Tito Flores and Miles Simington each had an RBI in the fourth to get the lead to 8-0.

In his first start, Cam Schuelke (2-0, 0.94) shined. He pitched six innings, allowing no runs on just four hits and no walks. He even got a double at the plate in the bottom of the sixth to cap off his stellar night.

Joe Horozco pitched two scoreless with a strikeout and William Mabrey pitched a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to seal the victory.

The three pitchers combined for zero walks in the game, commanding the zone all night long.

The Pit Spitters also stole four bases to move back into second place in the Northwoods League and first in the Great Lakes East.
