Long Island Nets Acquire Two Players in 2022 NBA G League Draft

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, acquired two players in today's 2022 NBA G League Draft.

With the 19th overall pick in the first round, Long Island selected guard Taz Sherman. Prior to beginning his NBA G League career, Sherman (6'4", 190) played three seasons (2019-22) at West Virginia, appearing in 90 games (41 starts) and averaging 12.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.9 minutes per game. The Missouri City, Texas, native earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors as a senior.

With the 77th overall pick in the third round, the LI Nets selected forward Alan Griffin. Griffin (6'5", 190) spent one season (2021-22) in the NBA G League with the Westchester Knicks, appearing in five games (two starts) and averaging 6.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.9 minutes per contest. Prior to beginning his professional career, he spent one season (2020-21) at Syracuse, where he appeared in 28 games (27 starts) and averaged 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. Griffin played his first two seasons (2018-20) at Illinois, where he appeared in 58 games (two starts) and averaged 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 12.9 minutes per contest.
