The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, made two selections in the 2022 NBA G League Draft on Saturday, Oct. 22 to bolster the roster before Training Camp begins on Monday, Oct. 24.
Windy City selected Nick King with the No. 24 overall pick and Wayne Stewart Jr. with the No. 9 pick in the third round.
After playing for East High School in Memphis, King attended the University of Memphis for two years (2013-2015), before transferring to the University of Alabama (2016-2017) and then Middle Tennessee State University (2017-2018).
As a senior at Middle Tennessee State, King averaged 21 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game and was named both the Conference USA Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. King was also named to the USA Today All-America Third Team - the first selection in program history. King went on to play for the Los Angeles Lakes in the 2018 NBA Summer League after going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft. King has G League experience, playing with the Maine Red Claws for the 2018-19 season.
Stewart Jr. started at Lamar Community College (2015-2017), before transferring to New Mexico State University for one year (2017-2018), and then Texas A&M University-Commerce (2018-2020). The 6-foot-7 forward played in 42 games at Texas A&M Commerce, averaging 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. For the 2021-22 season, Stewart went overseas to play for Froya Basket in Norway, where he averaged 23.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
Windy City is entering its sixth season in the NBA G League with opening night set for Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. CT on the road against the Wisconsin Herd.
