Austin Spurs Select Justin Kier in 2022 NBA G League Draft

AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs today announced that they have selected Guard Justin Kier with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA G League Draft.

Kier (KY-ER), 6-4/195, finished his collegiate career averaging 9.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 170 total games with George Mason University (2016-20), University of Georgia (2020-21) and University of Arizona (2021-22). In his final season at Arizona, he appeared in all 37 games for the Wildcats making six starts and averaged 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 20.0 minutes. Kier wrapped his career with 1,610 points, 755 rebounds and 354 total assists to go with 187 steals.

From Grottoes, Virginia, Kier helped Spotswood High School to a combined 108-10 record, ending his tenure ranked No. 2 in points (1,728), No. 5 in rebounds (518), No. 3 in three-pointers (147) and No. 4 in assists (386) in Spotswood school history on his way to being named first-team All-State as a junior and senior.

Kier joins the Austin Spurs roster, which will begin training camp on Monday, Oct. 24.
