Birmingham Squadron Select Trey McGowens with 64th Overall Pick

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - With the 64th overall pick in the 2022 NBA G League Draft, the Birmingham Squadron selected guard Trey McGowens from the University of Nebraska on Saturday. The pick served as Birmingham's lone selection in this year's draft.

McGowens, who started his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh, played his final two years for the Cornhuskers and head coach Fred Hoiberg. In two seasons in Lincoln, McGowens started 43 of the 44 games in which he appeared.

In his senior season at Nebraska, he averaged 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 assists per contest. As a junior in 2020-21, McGowens averaged 10.7 points per contest, while also notching 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 2.3 assists per game.
